Sports in Montreal

Montreal is famous for its hockey-hungry fans. Hockey's storied history began here. Montreal is the site of the Canadian Grand Prix, a Formula One auto race held annually at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Īle Notre-Dame.

Montreal also hosts the Molson Indy Montreal of the Champcars Series. Both events allow the city to host festivities celebrating the racing industry. The F1 festivities begin on Crescent Street the week leading up to the race.

Molson Indy festivities begin three days prior to the race and are held in the Latin Quarter around St. Denis Street. On July 13, 1982, Montreal hosted the first baseball All-Star Game outside the United States.
